A skin of wood. A shelter. A vehicle for what we cannot see. No map will indicate its precise location.
Caravan involves my interest in using sculptures, installations, objects as prompts towards embodied experience, in hope of widening the viewer’s perspective in a multi-sensorial way. To activate a situation.
Caravan is a mobile performance work consisting of a bicycle powered teardrop caravan, designed and built from scratch at home with minimal tools (a jigsaw and a drill), using the kitchen table as a saw bench.
The spatial dynamic of the caravan’s interior is crafted to call attention to its palpable structure and character. Yet to preserve an ambiguity that encourages the search for many paths and multiple meanings.
It is not the physical statement of the structure so much as the potential of the notions it engages with. The caravan – a vehicle for ideas.
